At the threshold of a new year in the Jewish calendar, The Green Interfaith Dialogue offers its best of wishes to everyone, and in particualr, to the Iranian Jewish community worldwide.

And GID offers the best of wishes also to the people of Muslim faith, as they celebrate Eyde Fetr, which marks the end of the month of Ramadan, a month of fast.

May this be a year of peace, joy, prosperity and happiness, for all the people of the world.

The Green Interfaith Dialogue Condemns Recent Threats of Insult to Muslims' Holy Scripture

The Green Interfaith Dialogue condemns any probable kind of insults and sacrilege to the ‎Holy Koran, the sacred text of Muslim people, and to the religious and spiritual beliefs of ‎peaceful Muslims worldwide. The recent announcements about possible burning of ‎Korans by a few hardliners in Florida, which has triggered serious protests from the part ‎of the leaders of Abrahamian faiths and other religious and spiritual schools, is against the ‎spirit of peace and harmony amongst nations. ‎

As interfaith supporters of the Green Civil Rights and Freedoms Movement of Iran, we ‎regard any intention of insulting Koran, the Muslims’ sacred text, as an irrational and ‎hate-based megalomania. ‎‏ ‏Such attempts will illegitimately empower the Islamic ‎fundamentalist regimes to wage war and provoke terrorism against other nations, and to internally suppress civil movements, as well as the rational, peaceful interpretations of the ‎religious texts. ‎

‏ در اعتراض به تهدید توهین به متن مقدس مسلمانان ‏

‏۷ سپتامبر ۲۰۱۰ ‏

گفتگوی سبز بین ادیان، هر گونه توهین و هتک حرمت به قرآن کریم، متن مقدس مسلمانان، و به باورهای مذهبی و ‏معنوی- روحانی مسلمانان صلح گرای جهان را محکوم می کند. ما اعلام اخیر در مورد سوزاندن احتمالی قرآن ‏توسط اندک شماری از بنیادگرایان در ایالت فلوریدای آمریکا را -- که اعتراض جدی راهنمایان مذهبی ادیان ‏ابراهیمی و دیگر مکتب های دینی و معنوی- روحانی را بر انگیخته -- در تضاد با روح صلح و هماهنگی در ‏میان ملل می دانیم. ‏

ما به عنوان حامیان بین ادیانِ جنبش سبز حقوق و آزادی های مدنی ایران، هر گونه قصد توهین به قرآن، متن مقدس ‏مسلمانان را، جنون نابخردانه و بر پایۀ حسّ منفی نفرت می دانیم. چنین اقدام های ناموجهی، رژیم های ‏بنیادگرای اسلامی را در افروختن جنگ و تروریسم علیه ملل دیگر و سرکوب داخلی جنبش های مدنی و روایت ‏های خردگرایانه و صلح آمیز از متون مقدس، تقویت می کنند.‏
